We are seeking a General Manager to join our team! The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, strategic planning, and resource management of the company. This individual ensures the smooth execution of projects, optimizes profitability, maintains customer satisfaction, and upholds safety and compliance standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred
Valid Drivers License and copy of Driver’s Record or Letter of Clearance from the DMV
Construction Management degree, or equivalent experience
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Current OSHA 10 or higher active certification status.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Must be a self-starter comfortable meeting new people and a person who can quickly put others at ease and inspire trust.
Must be “hands on” and able to personally use all tools and equipment employed on JLS’ projects.
Must have a strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret operational data, budgets, and resource allocation to drive strategic decision-making.
Must possess general knowledge of OSHA safety requirements for construction projects.
Must possess the ability to effectively deal with customers, their representatives, inspectors, other employees, and vendors on a regular basis.
Must exhibit the willingness and the ability to continuously conduct oneself in accordance with the high company standards of JLS.
Ability to read blueprints and understand specifications for all trades.
Knowledgeable of project scheduling, planning, expediting and cost control
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and process-oriented
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
Sense of urgency in all tasks assigned and highly organized.
Able to work well independently and contribute effectively on team-based projects.
Strong focus on problem-solving
Proficient in Microsoft Office
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct and support Division Heads fostering a cooperative team environment.
Develop financial budgets, forecast resource needs, and ensure compliance with company standards.
Lead operational planning, policy implementation, and adherence across all departments.
Monitor revenue margins and job profitability, addressing deficiencies through post-project reviews.
Ensure competitive estimates and proposals while achieving profitability goals.
Oversee compliance with safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, etc.).
Allocate resources effectively, identifying needs for new projects and making recommendations to leadership.
Collaborate with HR to recruit, train, and evaluate staff for current and future needs.
Oversee customer support, ensuring projects meet expectations and resolving escalated issues.
Build and maintain relationships with existing and new customers to drive business growth.
Review and approve contracts to protect corporate assets.
Approve new vendors and manage safety compliance to mitigate risks.
Pay based on knowledge and experience.
