Summary You will serve as a PIPEFITTER in the Pipe Shop (56A), Hull Division (TRF 310), Repair Department (TRF-300), TRIDENT Refit Facility (TRIREFFAC), Kings Bay, Georgia of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. Responsibilities You will remove, repair, manufacture, and reinstall piping systems and equipment aboard ships and submarines. You will assemble, install, maintain, and repair piping systems of submarines. You will troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and install tank level indicators. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION WG-10: Experience removing and installing piping systems and equipment of submarines. Experience replacing piping components such as valves, strainers, etc. Experience disassembling, maintaining, cleaning, and assembling hose systems for hydraulics, oil, water, etc. Experience inspecting completed items for adherence to required specifications. Experience using a variety of pipefitting tools such as grinders, brazing torch, measuring tools, hydraulic pipe benders, silver solder, etc. to complete work assigned. Experience operating chemical flushing rigs to clean piping systems and components. Experience removing, maintaining, and testing tank level indicators in accordance with established procedures. WG-08: Experience maintaining and repairing piping systems and equipment of submarines. Experience preparing piping systems for welding. Experience preparing equipment and components for subsequent installation. Experience performing testing on repaired and installed piping systems, heat exchangers, and condensers for proper functional capability. Experience determining adequacy of existing pipe hangers and replacing when necessary. Experience reading, researching, and interpreting basic or complex blueprints, instructions, and specifications to perform pipefitting work assigned.
