The Technician will be responsible for:
- Installing intrusion detection systems and equipment, access control systems, video surveillance equipment, and related devices including REX sensors, REX push buttons, electric locks, and other applicable force protection equipment.
- Install and terminate headend equipment including enclosures, power supplies, ACS controllers, back batteries and Fire Alarm interface.
- Maintain, repair, troubleshoot equipment and systems.
Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
- Applying practical knowledge of electronic principles and electronic security codes and standards to isolate malfunctions using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on the security equipment identified by the task order and return faulty equipment to operating condition.
- Documenting maintenance actions and updating drawings, time distribution.
- Training and developing apprentices
Experience/Qualifications:
- Candidates must be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Experience with Personal Computer and Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word applications.
- The candidate must have the ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently.
- Excellent knowledge in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for cable routing to electric strikes and door locks (Hess, Schlage, wireless locks) and magnetic locking devices (Dynalock, Securitron, etc…).
- Candidates must have the ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
- Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
- Must be able to operate articulating boom lifts, climb ladders, and operate such devices in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Flexibility, adaptability, leadership, self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision, being able to work individually and as part of a team
- The candidate will have a mentorship mind-set for training all new apprentices.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED and any combination of the following:
- Minimum 3-4 years experience installing Access Control, Intrusion Detection, or Video Surveillance systems.
- Must have experience in PTZ and IP camera installation.
- Excellent problem solving & communication skills.
- Must have the ability to recognize and provide immediate solutions for onsite changes in system integrations during the construction of buildings.
- Must have an understanding of the construction process, timeline management, utilizing work packages and budget tracking.
- General knowledge of electronic security installation, NEC, NFPA Life Safety Code issues.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record and the ability to operate fleet vehicles in a safe manner at all times.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass a background and drug screening.
- Willing to travel as necessary.
