Foreman
+ Position Overview
The Foreman is responsible for coordinating daily operations and supervising workers at a construction job site. This position serves as a key point of reference for both workers and supervisors, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and in compliance with company quality standards. The Foreman provides leadership to the crew, manages schedules, and ensures the efficient use of resources. This role reports to the project team composed by project manager, project coordinator, field engineer, and Superintendent II if applicable.
+ Essential Functions of the Job
+ Lead and supervise a construction crew, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
+ Support the Superintendent and project team throughout the project duration.
+ Review and follow project schedules and work plans.
+ Analyze drawings, scopes of work, labor, and material requirements before project commencement.
+ Plan and schedule weekly execution of assigned work.
+ Communicate project expectations and work assignments to the crew.
+ Coordinate with subcontractors and company personnel to optimize job efficiency.
+ Prepare and submit accurate daily reports to the project team.
+ Manage and track equipment needs for assigned projects.
+ Ensure timely and accurate material orders and verify deliveries for quantity and condition.
+ Report any damaged or incomplete deliveries immediately.
+ Conduct daily quality control inspections of work performed.
+ Maintain a safe work environment and enforce company safety policies.
+ Assist in the development and execution of safety-related tasks, including toolbox talks and pre-task planning.
+ Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and site requirements.
+ Ensure proper utility marking is completed before any excavation work.
+ Perform construction work alongside the crew as needed.
+ Attend and participate in safety training and ensure proper incident reporting procedures are followed.
+ Provide training and guidance to workers to enhance skills and efficiency.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or project team.

2. Knowledge
Construction — Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of highways and roads.
Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, and maintenance as required.
Mathematics — Knowledge of basic math. Interprets and transfers information from surveyor stakes, follow sheets and engineering plans to grade stakes that workers can follow for setting of forms. Sets lines and grades using surveying instruments, string line level, eye level and checks accuracy of established grades on forms before concrete is poured.
Concrete- Knowledge of general methods and techniques for concrete finishing and safe operation of equipment in accordance with worksite safety requirements.
Computer Literacy – knowledge and efficiency in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, use tablets and mobile devices.
Safety – Federal, State, and local regulations in relation to construction operations, e.g. EPA hazardous waste disposal, OSHA.
3. Abilities

Scheduling – prepare schedules and supervise to completion.
Site Logistics Plans – develop and maintain a site logistics plan.

Driving—Current Driver’s License needs it. Must be able to hitch and haul a trailer if needed.

Physical effort for this position includes, but not limited to:

Travel requirement
+ Occasional travel requiring overnight stay- Travel may be required based on operational needs.
Working Conditions
This position is subject to outside environmental conditions to include extreme cold and hot temperatures according to the season. The worker is subject to noise level in which shouting is necessary to communicate. The worker is exposed to a variety of physical conditions such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current and high places. This position is exposed to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases. Requires extensive walking, carrying, dragging, holding, pulling, pushing, lifting, kneeling, bending, twisting body, walking, reaching, and squatting; may be required to lift 70 pounds or more. Employee must be flexible in the schedule to work nights and weekends and must have reliable transportation to the main office or job sites.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
Prior Construction coordination and leadership experience
Must have experience managing heavy civil construction projects.
Following certifications are a plus:
+ Excavation Competent Person (Including Cobb County Excavation & Trenching Certification)

+ GSWCC Level 1-A
+ GDOT Worksite Erosion Control Supervisor
+ OSHA 30 and OSHA 10
