POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will oversee field execution of logistics projects and provide construction management support and oversight to develop technical scopes and work packages supporting projects to ensure safe and reliable operations of Natural Gas Compressor Stations, Amine Facilities, Pipelines, CTB Sites, LACT Units, Pumps, and various other types of equipment. Additionally, this position must have a strong commitment to safety and environmental policies
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Help lead the MPLX Construction Team and the Contract Inspection staff.
+ Provide input to project leadership during gated Frontend Loading (Appraise, Select, and Define stages) as projects are initiated, concepts selected, and frontend definitions developed. Review proposed designs and advise on constructability issues with adverse impact.
+ Work with project engineers, operations, safety, environmental, and planners to specify contents of construction work packages and produce resource-loaded project schedules. Perform onsite field assessments to validate requirements.
+ Work with Procurement to identify and obtain resources (equipment, materials, and contractors). Support material receiving through inspection.
+ Lead and coordinate staffing resources during the FEL and Project Execution stage. Implement construction and installation of facilities and equipment in accordance with approved detailed design. Monitor and control project performance to ensure established quality, cost, and time targets are achieved in a safe and environmentally sound manner. Monitor adherence to engineering standards.
+ Collaborate with project controls (scheduling, estimating, cost management, schedule management, reporting, etc.) so that project resources are optimized. Conduct productivity analysis to identify and resolve critical variances so that projects can achieve established objectives. Communicate critical events that will affect project s or construction schedules or estimates so that conflict resolution is possible without delay.
+ Ensure accurate and current project documentation necessary to complete final project documentation. As needed, provide input to startup manuals, operating and emergency response procedures, training materials, etc.
+ Ensure that all testing and documentation required by the specifications, contracts, and all local, State, and Federal agencies are completed properly and filed as permanent records.
+ Ensure accurate as-built information is obtained on all project work and submitted to the appropriate designer(s) to allow updating the drawings and records.
+ Prepare construction inspection estimates and staffing plans for projects.
+ Collaborate with the PMs in the review of contractor bids/proposals and make a value-based selection involving quality, cost, and ability to complete work in a timely manner.
+ Ensure all construction work is performed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with MPLX Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
+ High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ Ten (10) years engineering and/or construction experience with at least two (2) years as project manager, construction supervisor, foreman or planner in petrochemical industry.
+ Three (3) years leadership experience required.
TRAVEL:
This role requires a willingness to travel extensively (50% of the time) to various project sites within the designated Western regions.
