**Responsibilities**

This position will be responsible for the planning, development and maintenance of the injury prevention program along with designing, organizing, implements, and evaluating evidence-based educational programs and continuing education in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director. Scope of practice encompasses use of nursing processes in major areas: practice, education, consultation, research and administration, performance and quality improvement. Responsibilities include tracking, trending, analysis and development of programs and prevention efforts. Required to organize and conduct community events and actively seek out opportunities to

participate in community based injury prevention groups. The incumbent is responsible for knowledge driven outcomes management, advanced clinical practice, education to staff, and community. Also serves as a clinical consultant to staff, hospital administration, physician, and community. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Will be required to work the occasional weekend and/or holiday as needed.

**Qualifications**

**Experience**

Minimum 5 years experience in Emergency/ Trauma Critical/ Care required.

**Education**

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with BSN or completion within a year of hire.

Preferred BSN or MSN with public health experience or a related field.

**Licensure**

Licensure in the State of California as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) and BLS required. TNCC within 6 months of hire. RN:CA; BLS-CPR;TNCC - within 6 months

CEN, ENPC, PALS and ACLS preferred.

**Special Skills**

Basic computer skills required. Strong verbal, written and communication skills. Proficient computer skills. High comfort level with public speaking. Basic graphic design principles and desktop publishing techniques. Capable of effectively

handling multiple priorities. Effective time management skills. Strong organizational and planning skills. Ability to work independently and with diverse groups and teams.

Experience with performance improvement, quality improvement. Experience with nursing research. Experience with education to broad populations including physicians and nursing preferred

**Pay Range**

$53.34 - $69.78 /hour
