Job Description:
The Security Technician will be responsible for the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, and related components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
• System Installation and Setup
o Install and configure security systems, including alarms, access control, video surveillance, and intercom systems.
o Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, company standards, and client requirements.
o Run and terminate cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, etc.) as needed for system connectivity.
• System Programming and Configuration
o Program and customize security systems to meet client-specific needs.
o Integrate systems with smart home platforms or business networks as required.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance
o Diagnose and repair technical issues with security systems promptly.
o Perform routine system inspections, tests, and maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
• Customer Service
o Provide detailed system demonstrations and user training to clients.
o Address client concerns and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
o Offer recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements.
• Compliance and Documentation
o Ensure all installations comply with local and national electrical and safety codes.
o Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls.
o Complete required documentation, including service reports and inventory updates.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
• Technical Expertise:
o Strong knowledge of security system components, including alarm systems
o Familiarity with industry-leading brands
o Proficiency in network configuration and IP-based systems.
• Experience:
o Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in security system installation and maintenance.
o Experience working with residential, commercial, or industrial clients is a plus.
• Certifications (Preferred):
o Electronic Security Association (ESA) certifications.
o Network+ or equivalent networking certification.
o Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Axis Certified Professional, Honeywell Certified Installer).
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Other Requirements:
o Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
Availability for on-call or emergency service requests as needed.
