General Job Description:

HVAC helpers work with HVAC technicians to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with the installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Operating a variety of hand and power tools needed for HVAC installation.
Following instructions for picking up and delivering parts, tools, materials, and supplied to and from the job site.
Ensuring all tools, materials, and equipment are in good working condition.
Assisting with preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and the associated equipment.
Assisting with maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing plumbing and electrical systems.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in HVAC or other related fields
Familiarity with HVAC required.
Ability to handle physical workload
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Familiar with all tools and equipment necessary for HVAC installation and maintenance.
Good communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and take direction from installers.
Required qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
Desired qualifications:

Previous HVAC and/or construction experience.
Trained in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installation.
Essential Physical Functions: (These will vary based on position)

Climbing: Ascending or descending stairs.
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
Subject to outside environmental conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat for extended periods of time.
