**Imaging Tech II - Magnetic Resonance Imaging**

**Northridge Hospital Medical Center**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Magnetic Resonance **Imaging (MRI) Technologist II** to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of MRI operation, patient care, and quality assurance. This role requires independent judgment, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care within a fast-paced environment.

**Responsibilities**

+ Independently perform a wide range of MRI examinations, including complex and specialized protocols, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.

+ Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns or anxieties. This includes obtaining patient history, verifying orders, and assessing for contraindications.

+ Administer intravenous contrast media as needed, adhering to strict safety protocols and monitoring patients for adverse reactions.

+ Operate and maintain MRI equipment, performing routine quality control checks and troubleshooting minor technical issues. Report any significant equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.

+ Process and review images, ensuring accuracy and completeness before sending them to radiologists for interpretation.

+ Maintain detailed patient records, including technical notes and procedural documentation, adhering to all HIPAA regulations.

+ Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

+ Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

+ Mentor and train less experienced MRI technologists, providing guidance and support.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all infection control protocols.

+ Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols related to MRI operation and patient care.

+ Maintain professional development through continuing education courses and participation in professional organizations.

**Qualifications**

+ A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital and radiology department is required.

+ Must have satisfactory completion of formal radiological technology training in an AMA-approved school or BS or AA degree in Radiological Technology in an AMA-approved school.

+ Cross-training in CT MRI Nuclear Medicine and Mammography is required.

+ License is required as issued by ARRT (national) CRT (state) and Fluoroscopy certification.

+ Certification in one modality is required.

+ Must maintain a Fire Safety card. (must be obtained within 90 days of start date)

**This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.**

**Pay Range**

$53.80 - $63.38 /hour
