**Responsibilities**

The RN Data Analyst is a Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating healthcare services across the continuum of care within the Cardiac Cath Lab, by monitoring, evaluating and modifying the treatment plan to achieved optimal patient outcomes. The RN Data Analyst employs critical thinking to integrate objective data with knowledge gained from initial and ongoing assessment including the objective and subjective experiences and health care history of each patient. The RN Data Analyst will also use this critical thinking process to apply the best, evidence based practice and research data to interdisciplinary care coordination from admission to discharge and transition planning. The RN Data Analyst will consistently apply the utilization and case management review as required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) as well as all other payers using guidelines and rules to reach the correct admission and continued status determinations. The RN Data Analyst will review clinical documentation to assess the accuracy, specificity, and completeness of physician and clinical caregiver documentation and to identify if clinical findings suggest the presence of other conditions that are not explicitly documented in the patient's health record. The RN Data Analyst will continually evaluate quality, risk and patient safety to optimize outcomes. The RN Data Analyst will integrate other requirements as outlined by CMS and The Joint Commission to assure that patient care is provided and documented to reflect minimum requirements and standards.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ At least 5 years recent full-time experience (subject to other work considerations) in a cardiology or Critical Care unit in a acute care healthcare setting.

+ A combination of education and experience, which provides the above knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.

+ Current California State licensure as a Registered Nurse required.

+ CA drivers license.

+ To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key activity satisfactorily. The requirements listed below arerepresentative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to applicable JCAHO and HIPAA regulations. Delivering complex, detailed, verbal information to patients/families, managers, physicians,staff and others. Intermediate knowledge of computer word processing, spreadsheets and other database programs, including Excel and Access;ability to write reports and do graphical analysis. Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar and punctuation. Selfstarter, detail oriented and ability to interact with physicians. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, assignments and responsibilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of reports and legal documents.

+ Documented track record of:

+ 1. Complex clinical data collection and interpretation.

+ 2. Delivery of patient and family education.

+ 3. Patient cardiovascular assessment.

+ 4. Ability to research data from a wide range of sources.

+ 5. Program evaluation and management of quality indicators.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor degree in Nursing is preferred.

+ Knowledge of Cath Lab procedures, especially STEMI, TAVR, AICD/ICD.

+ Knowledge of Registries such as NCDR/TVT a plus.

**Pay Range**

$47.82 - $70.15 /hour
