**Responsibilities**

**Position Summary:**

The position requires knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures and assumes the responsibility and accountability for prepping and scanning of all documents picked up and/or received by the Health Information Management Department ensuring timely accessibility of information for quality patient care.

+ This position is also responsible for analysis of the medical record assigning deficiencies as identified for physician authentication and dictation.

+ This position will also be responsible for timely notification to physicians of pending records that need completion identifying those physicians who will be suspended and notifying appropriate hospital personnel and departments of physician suspension.

+ This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

**Qualifications**

**Minimum:**

+ Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

+ Working knowledge of form identification and content of the medical record.

+ Ability to efficiently and accurately file in alphabetical order and terminal digit order.

+ Responsible for ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information.

+ Ability to be flexible and do any or all job functions assigned within the department when in need or when census is low.

+ Working knowledge of computer applications.

+ Two years in the Health Information Management (HIM) hospital setting with experience in record analysis.

+ Applicant must be able to pass an entry level chart order and analysis test to be administered during the interview process.

+ High School Diploma/GED.

**Preferred:**

+ RHIA or RHIT preferred.

**Pay Range**

$30.94 - $30.94 /hour
