We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager with a strong background in managing environmental compliance on large construction projects. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience, preferably in California, with a demonstrated experience overseeing all environmental aspects of large construction projects. The Environmental Manager will play a key role in establishing and maintaining a responsible environmental culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, while identifying and mitigating environmental hazards throughout the duration of the project. Additionally, the Environmental Manager will oversee biological and archaeological monitors to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

+ • Oversee the environmental management of construction projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly in California.

+ • Establish and foster an environmental safety culture for all project participants.

+ • Ensure compliance with California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) mitigation measures, including tracking, reporting, and implementing necessary actions.

+ • Conduct environmental training for all staff entering the project to ensure awareness and compliance with environmental safety protocols.

+ • Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental hazards and non-compliance issues throughout the project lifecycle.

+ • Maintain effective communication with project teams, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to address environmental concerns and provide regular updates.

+ • Prepare and submit required environmental documentation and reports.

+ • Lead the project’s environmental compliance efforts, including stormwater pollution prevention planning (SWPPP).

+ • Oversee biological and archaeological monitors to ensure that environmental and cultural resources are protected during construction activities.

Qualifications:

+ • Minimum of 8 years of experience in overseeing environmental aspects of construction projects, preferably in California.

+ • Must hold, or be able to obtain, a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) or Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) certification upon starting.

+ • Experience overseeing biological and archaeological monitors to ensure environmental and cultural compliance.

+ • Applicable bachelor’s degree preferred.

+ • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders including regulators, contractors’ unions, vendors, and the public.

+ • Experience in conducting environmental training for construction staff.

+ • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in identifying and mitigating environmental hazards.

Salary: 125K-156K
