Our company works on residential and commercial construction projects, so you must be familiar with a wide range of worksites, cost structures, and timelines.
Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
Estimating and Cost Analysis
Lead the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for all project phases, including conceptual, schematic, and final estimates.
Perform quantity takeoffs and ensure the accuracy of scope of work documentation.
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
Develop and maintain cost databases for labor, materials, and equipment.
Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options.
Preconstruction Planning
Manage preconstruction efforts from initial concept through the construction handoff.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to align designs with project budgets and objectives.
Assist in preparing bid packages and proposals, including competitive subcontractor pricing strategies.
Review project schedules and timelines, ensuring feasibility and resource allocation.
Support contract negotiations and provide input on terms related to cost and scope.
Team Leadership
Supervise and mentor junior estimators, ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional growth.
Foster a collaborative work environment, promoting knowledge-sharing and innovation within the team.
Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining oversight of project priorities and deadlines.
Client Engagement
Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the preconstruction phase.
Present estimates, budgets, and preconstruction plans to clients and stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.
Reporting and Documentation
Prepare detailed project reports, including cost breakdowns, budget comparisons, and risk assessments.
Track and report on preconstruction progress, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and preconstruction documentation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
8+ years of experience in estimating and preconstruction management, preferably within a multidisciplinary construction environment.
Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes.
Technical Skills
Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, OnScreen, etc.) and project management tools.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with cost management software.
Strong understanding of BIM/VDC and its application in preconstruction.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
