WELDER/FABRICATOR

Advantec h Indu stries Inc. is a contract manufacturer providing sheet metal and precision CNC machined parts.

We are looking for a high-level experienced Welder/Fabricator to fabricate Ferrous and Non-Ferrous components for our clients. As a Welder/Fabricator, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating components or structures, and performing in process quality checks on finished products for the Defense Industry

To ensure success as an Advantech Welder/Fabricator, you should have minimum of 5 years’ experience. You must possess an advanced knowledge of the welding and metal working trade with a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills. Extremely proficient in Tig welding on Aluminum, Stainless and Carbon Steel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- 5 years’ experience as a Welder/Fabricator.

- AWS certification Capabilities and advanced welding experience.

- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing procedures.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.

- Proficiency with metal fabrication tools that are common with the Welding industry.

- Advanced mathematical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects.

- Ability to stand or sit for long periods.

- Ability to thoroughly conduct in-process inspections use measuring devices such as Calipers and Height Gauges.

- Ability to plan and lay out work to make effective and efficient use time, materials and equipment

- Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and the willingness to work as a valued team member.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- With limited supervision and quality work ethic, functions as a member of a customer-driven quality team whose goal is to ensure that product quality requirements established by the customer have been achieved

- Holds oneself accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments made around project outcomes

- Maintains adequate levels of performance and motivation despite job tasks that are routine, repetitive, and/or non-stimulating

- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directives

- Ability to work well under pressure, to adhere to deadlines and the ability to be flexible

- Thorough operational knowledge and skills of specific equipment to be operated

- Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently

- Ability to keep record of time spent and material used

- Ability to read drawings and blueprints

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

- Ability to TIG/MIG weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum

According to the New York Pay Transparency law, pay range for this job is $19.00 - $37.00 / hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
