Job description
The Assistant Manager will work closely with the HR Manager to build and create competitive campaigns and internal processes to attract and retain talented professionals at all levels of the organization. High levels of collaboration will be required to support hiring manager’s department needs. We are looking for a creative problem solver, and humble teammate to improve hiring practices and support HR team goals. Internal collaboration is key to meet departmental goals around compliance and back fill in other HR fields when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of regulations in federal and state employment laws to include but not limited to FLSA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, Civil Rights Act of 1964 and HIPAA to ensure company compliance.
Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, selection, onboarding of new hires and orientation.
Conduct investigations and make recommendations on resolutions.
Support managers in issuing corrective actions to ensure fair and consistent practices.
Ensure regulatory and legal compliance with corporate guidelines as well as federal and state requirements by following policies and procedures.
Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) to comply with state compliance training.
Handle unemployment claims through Case Builder.
Conduct market research to ensure competitive compensation practices.
Foster positive employee relations by addressing inquiries, facilitating communication, and promoting a collaborative work environment.
Acts as a backup for the Human Resources Manager.
Experience and Skills
Preferred bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, but not required
Certification as a SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP or CP) or Professional in Human Resources (SPHR/PHR).
4+ years of experience in HR, preferably in the wholesale distribution industry
Knowledge of labor laws, safety regulations, and HR best practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and HRIS software
Time management and project management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Full-Time Monday through Friday
