DCS Contracting is seeking an Estimator with expertise in underground wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drain) to join our team! This position is responsible for preparing civil estimates for both Public Works Projects as well as Private Development Projects. The ideal candidate possesses a strong ability to prepare complete estimates for self-performing wet utilities as well complete estimates for general contracting opportunities in Design-Bid-Build, CMAR and JOC.

DCS's office is conveniently located in Chandler, AZ off Germann Rd and Arizona Ave. Our office hours are 7am-4pm Monday - Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project and develop scope of work, labor, and equipment costs
Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and pricing of scope through self-perform production-based estimate or unit price estimating
Set up bids into estimating software
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents for estimates
Understand and interpret project plans and specifications
Prepare material lists for assigned bids
Solicit quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and maintains correspondence
Analyze and input quotes in an organized manner
Assist the Estimating team with tasks that relate to preparing estimates
Meet all deadlines with necessary documentation
Participate in ongoing estimating training
Helps development and implement estimating practices, tutorials, and guides
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical training and/or experience
3+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil projects
Knowledge of crew configurations and labor productions
Understanding of estimating techniques, cost control, subcontractor solicitation, and material specifications
Understanding and knowledge of municipal specifications and details
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Experience using InEight, HeavyBid, On-Screen Takeoff, and Agtek or similar estimating software
Knowledge of construction means and methods, costs and engineering principles
Knowledge of project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Bid, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and Job Order Contracts (JOC)
Knowledge of Arizona heavy civil market is a plus
