job summary:

Construction Manager opportunity located in the Chicago, IL area. This position will be responsible for managing the installation and completion of a project generating electricity through the conversion of waste steam through a steam turbine followed by another project at a federal facility undergoing energy savings infrastructure upgrades. Qualified candidates must have a strong safety mindset and ideally have experience in a heavy industrial or similar environment.

responsibilities:

+ Monitor the quality and safety of the subcontractors ensuring everyone is adhering to strict safety standards

+ Generate permits first thing every morning for contractors to work on site

+ Work daily with the customer and subcontractors to resolve unforeseen issues with the project

+ Ensure installed work meets specifications and resolve punch list items upon project completion

+ Coordinate collection of sign off sheets as well as collect and write daily reports of project progress

+ Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Project Manager

Qualifications

+ Approximately 5 or more years of related construction experience ideally in a heavy industrial, government, federal, or similar environment

+ Experience with electrical, power generation, steam, chilled water, hot water, control design, piping, and/or mechanical systems

+ Experience with ProCore is a plus

+ Experience with or the ability to create As-builts drawings is a plus

+ Maturity and professionalism to effectively handle frequent exposure to senior management, as well as with external organizations, customers, and the public
