Phillips Pet is seeking a Territory Sales Managerto cover ourSouthern California Coastal and San Diego regionto service our existing account base and seek out new customers and opportunities. The successful candidate is a highly motivated sales professional withPet Salesexperience in account management and business development. This role will be remote and based in the region being serviced, but it requires the successful candidate to regularly service accounts. (Pet stores, Veterinarians, etc.) Please note qualified candidates must live in Western Colorado or in the city to be successful in this role

You will be responsible for growing existing accounts, identifying new opportunities, and following up on leads for new business. You will be motivated to win, eager to build relationships, able to work independently and play a key role as a winning team member.

Pay: $67,000-$72,000/yearly base plus commissions and car allowance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Evaluate current business processes and systems and make recommendations for efficiency improvements and/or cost reductions

+ Review performance data (financial, sales, and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress, and activity levels

+ Achieve quarterly/annual budget & goals accountabilities.

+ Utilized variance reports, acquired technical product knowledge, market trends, and industry publications established personal networks, and participated in pet industry trade shows.

+ Service existing accounts, identify growth opportunities, and have a purpose for the visit. Drive to sell and grow territory volume, number of customer accounts, and sales revenue

+ Obtain orders and increase sales volume by presenting both current promotions and new lines.

+ Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information, identifying competitor trends, assessing the presence, and merchandising techniques.

+ Follow up with customer questions or issues and resolve problems promptly.

+ Keeps sales management apprised of sales activity via various reports (call logs, work plans, territory analysis). Submits reports in a timely, organized manner.

+ Maintains technical knowledge by learning about products and trends, reading industry publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in pet industry trade shows.

+ Focus on customer satisfaction and building client relationships

+ Participates in a safety culture that includes no recordable accidents and no loss of time injuries. Always make a safe choice. Watches out for co-workers and warns them when there are any safety issues or hazards. Participates actively in all safety programs and activities.

+ Understand purchasing, inventory, product, and process flow throughout departments

Position Requirements:

+ Associate degree from an accredited college

+ 3+ years of sales experience in the pet industry

+ Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

+ Ability to leverage computerized systems and spreadsheets to measure and analyze efficiencies

+ Must have a valid driver’s license; reside in assigned territory with auto and current auto insurance

+ Travel within assigned territory; up to possibly 80% overnight travel may be required

+ Salesforce a plus
