POSITION PURPOSE

A Plasterer Journeyman applies coats of plaster and/or stucco to interior walls, ceilings, and partitions of buildings, to produce finished surfaces and is required to complete work safely, with quality and within productivity specifications as directed by the foreman or superintendent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITES

+ Directs laborers and apprentices to mix mortar and plaster to desired consistency.

+ Applies plaster or stucco to walls, ceilings, and ensures all work is done accurately and to standards.

+ Roughens undercoat with scratcher (wire or metal scraper) to provide bond for succeeding coats of plaster.

+ Creates decorative textures in finish coat by marking surface of coat with brush and trowel or by spattering surface with pebbles.

+ Assists with scaffold erection to meet safety and job requirements.

+ Participates in daily huddles and practices safety as a priority on all job sites.

+ Models The Gallegos Corporation mission and values at all times.

+ This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

+ 1-3 years of constructions or plaster experience

+ Strong knowledge of plaster and stucco material

+ Attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness
