**HVDC Construction Manager**

**Job Description:**

To act as the Owner’s HVDC Construction Management representative, on site for our HVDC Facilities Project in Arizona. The HVDC Construction Manager will lead POWER’s Construction Management Team and will have an overall responsibility in overseeing the EPC Contractor(s)’s progress on site.

**Job Responsibilities:**

Extensive knowledge base and skill set in area of discipline and extensive knowledge in other disciplines. Provides guidance to project teams on both technical and project matters. Has significant interface with the client. Produces cost estimates, project schedules and is responsible for managing the coordination of the project deliverables.

+ Manage the site construction team and ensure proper representation of the Owner’s on site.

+ Organizes and oversees the implementation of POWER’s quality process on project work in order to produce deliverables which meet our client’s quality expectations.

+ Reviews engineering work or assignments across multiple disciplines.

+ Oversees multiple teams of engineers in the development of their deliverables and provides high level guidance and mentorship to ensure that designs meet all national standards and client standards.

+ Read and ensure full understanding of Project Documents which may include but not limited to the following: Construction Agreement and Exhibits, Scope of Work, Technical Specifications, Schedules, Quality, Safety and Environmental Plan.

+ Provide the Owner with continuous update on progress and any other project related issues. This includes, but not limited to, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Site Incidents, Safety, Equipment Deliveries, Non- Conformance Reports, etc.

+ Coordinate communication between the Owner, EPC contractor(s), and / or Suppliers as and when required.

+ Attend meetings with the Owner, EPC Contractor(s), Site Team and/ or Suppliers as and when required.

+ Attend site walk-arounds as required.

+ Monitor the EPC Contractor(s)’s progress and report any potential delays and/ or anticipated risks to deadlines and milestones.

+ Ensure the EPC Contractor(s)’s installations are in full compliance with the project QA/QC standards and specification. Record and report any deficiency or non-compliance to the Owner.

+ Work closely with the Owner’s Scheduler to update the progress on continuous basis.

+ Track daily deliveries, logging arrival and offload times as well as site conditions for the day.

+ Ensure all components delivered to site are inspected stored in accordance with Owner’s requirements and Manufacturer’s recommendations.

+ Ensure the EPC Contractor(s)’ and other suppliers’ equipment and material deliveries are inspected once delivered on site and properly stored.

+ Support the coordination of utilities, commissioning, electrical and mechanical completions, and inspection of the EPC Contractor(s)’ work.

+ Track site conditions and provide support for the Owner Project Manager’s acceptance and or rejection of crane wind/weather delay claims or Force Majeure claims made by the equipment suppliers or EPC Contract(s).

+ Review the man-hour reporting submitted by the EPC Contractor(s)’s and other suppliers or subcontractors. Advise the Owner’s project manager and/ or Project Controller accordingly.

+ Ensure EPC Contractor(s), suppliers and subcontractors always have sufficient and trained safety management personnel onsite to properly manage the Site Safety Plan.

+ Conduct regular audits (at least every three months) with either internal Owner resources or third-party providers to ensure EPC Contractor(s)’s plans are being properly implemented and that a safety conscious environment exists onsite.

+ Actively participate in EPC Contractor(s)’s All-hands Safety Meetings, Plan of the Day (PODs), End of Day (EOD), and morning safety meetings, and

+ Immediately report any significant injuries to the Owner Project Manager and Owner Safety Manager. In the event of a life- threatening injury or a fatality, follow the Emergency Notification Procedure.

+ Manage the completion of the punch list items, review the red line and as-built drawings for completeness, coordinate the turnover of the project documents and job books to the asset manager, inspect the site cleaning, and other construction closing issues.

+ Perform a detailed quality check of EPC Contract(s)’s as-built drawings.

+ Serve as the liaison between the EPC Contract(s) and the landowners in achieving final acceptance of restoration efforts.

+ Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned

**Qualifications:**

+ PE Required

+ Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering discipline required

+ 20+ years of applicable experience

+ Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools

+ Possesses a high level of expertise and knowledge of the consulting industry that has been acquired through many years of working in the business

+ Understands and manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements

+ Proficiency with financial analysis tools in a utility setting

+ Leadership and human resources management skills

+ Excellent time and project management skills

+ Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

+ Working knowledge of OSHA requirements. Current OSHA 30 certification

+ Knowledge of project controls, critical path method scheduling and risk assessment

+ Must have a valid driver license if operating a vehicle on behalf of Owner
