Are you looking to join a stable organization that has been in Rochester for almost 140 years? GMM Pfaudler US Inc. is looking for a Buyer to join our team. The Buyer procures all inventory and custom materials and services for our manufacturing operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Quotes goods and services as requested.

Procures goods and services as required on categories within specific authorization limits.

Procures parts made to blueprint specifications.

Coordinates global transactions (inbound and outbound) between the Pfaudler organizations.

Negotiates and maintains contracts for the supply of materials and services.

Selects vendors based on quality, delivery, and price considerations, which are consistent with Engineering and ASME/ASTM specifications.

Reviews, evaluates, and communicates supplier capabilities and performance.

Establishes blanket orders and stocking programs where material availability, quantity discounts, and reduced inventory levels can be realized.

Expedites orders to maintain schedule or to improve the vendor's delivery commitment.

Actively searches for materials, vendors, and technologies that will improve the profitability of the company.

Keeps abreast of changes in the market as it effects categories of spend critical to Pfaudler.

Communicates and coordinates the resolution of quality issues with Engineering, Quality Control, and the vendors.

Maintains a professional relationship with existing suppliers while actively investigating new sources of supply. Ensures all purchase orders have the proper authorizations as defined by Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. degree in Materials, Business Management or related field is required. Minimum of two years' experience required in procurement in a manufacturing organization.

Familiar or a background with the material specifications required for ASME fabrications.

Knowledgeable of Just in Time Total Quality Management and Statistical Process Control Methods.

Computer skills - proficiency in Excel, Word and ERP business systems.

Background in International Purchasing is preferred.

Experience purchasing custom parts is preferred.

Must be detail oriented.
