**Overview**

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Construction Engineering Inspector to join our Water/Wastewater team in Vero Beach, Florida (FL)!

**Responsibilities**

+ Manage construction phase services including contract administration and construction monitoring from pre-construction through project closeout consisting of municipal/private utility type projects.

+ Construction administration responsibilities include client coordination, response to RFI’s, processing of change orders, shop drawing review, construction schedule and approval of contractor pay applications

+ Monitor single or multiple site construction activities for conformance with project plans and specifications

+ Prepare field reports and photos of construction activities and site investigations

+ Troubleshoot construction issues providing alternative solutions and value engineering in collaboration with engineering staff

+ Review bid documents and technical specifications

+ May provide construction observation training and mentoring of junior engineering staff

+ May conduct meetings with clients and contractors

+ Assist engineers with project permitting including permit applications and certifications

**Qualifications**

+ High school degree/equivalent or better

+ Construction/engineering field observation experience, especially verticle structures.

+ Strong understanding of municipal/governmental agencies specifications, details, and practices

+ Strong understanding of construction site safety practices
