Mirror Fabricator:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mirror Production: Fabricate mirrors according to design specifications, including size, shape, and thickness requirements.
2. Glass Cutting and Shaping: Utilize cutting and shaping tools to cut glass sheets into desired dimensions and shapes, ensuring accuracy and precision.
3. Edging and Beveling: Perform edging and beveling processes to smooth and shape the edges of mirrors, enhancing their aesthetic appeal and safety.
4. Silvering Process: Apply reflective coatings (such as silver) to the glass surface to create the reflective properties of mirrors, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
5. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of finished mirrors to ensure they meet quality standards, including clarity, reflectivity, and absence of defects.
6. Assembly and Finishing: Assemble mirrors with frames or mounting hardware as required, and perform finishing touches to enhance their appearance and durability.
7. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate machinery and equipment used in the fabrication process to ensure optimal performance and safety.
8. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of glass materials, coatings, and other supplies, and communicate with relevant personnel to ensure adequate stock availability.
9. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Follow industry regulations and standards related to glass fabrication and handling.
10. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including materials used, production rates, and quality control measures, for reporting and analysis purposes.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional vocational or technical training in glass fabrication is preferred.
• Proven experience in glass fabrication, particularly in mirror production, with a strong understanding of glass properties and fabrication techniques.
• Proficiency in operating glass cutting, shaping, and silvering equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Attention to detail and precision in workmanship, with the ability to produce mirrors that meet exact specifications and quality standards.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and follow instructions from supervisors.
• Commitment to safety practices and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy materials as required in a manufacturing environment.
