Job Purpose
A full-time Estimator will prepare detailed estimates within the production and custom building industry. This individual will need to review plans and specifications and work closely with salespeople to coordinate finalized quantities and paperwork.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Completing plan estimate in a timely manner.
Managing and assuring quality data pulled from the VEO estimating software.
Communicating with team leads and supervisors about estimate status and issues.
Qualifications & Required Skills
Proficient math (more specifically geometry, fractions, and percentages), computer, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Previous experience reading blueprints and architectural drawings is preferred.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables on a daily basis.
Interpret multiple sets of instructions furnished in various forms (oral, diagram, and schedule form).
Must be extremely detail-oriented, and a team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines.
The ability to attain moderate skills navigating in VEO –Estimating Software and manual estimating calculations.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and some weekends.
Working Conditions
Office environment, most often working at an assigned workstation. Most work is done on a computer with proprietary software.
