The Core Technician Laborer (Helper 3) position is a labor-intensive position that works out in the elements. Whether is freezing outside or it's 105 degrees out, the work continues. The client will drill into the ground and extract core (rock) for analysis. We then provide labor support by carrying that rock (up to 35 lbs.), splitting it with the proper equipment, palletizing, and organizing it. There may be the need to photograph samples and input information collected into a database so basic computer skills are required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Photographing geological core samples
• Moving/Handling geological core samples
• Prepping/Shipping
• Splitting, sampling and palletizing drill core and other geological material in support of company operations
• Data entry using Microsoft Excel/Word
Qualifications
• Must pass pre-employment substance abuse testing.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license with an insurable driving record and proof of auto insurance coverage
• Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test in order to wear a respirator. (Must be clean-shaven)
• Basic Computer skills
Required Skills/Abilities
• Must have knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office software
• Must be able to travel (Some travel to other sites may be required.)
• Must be able to lift up to 35-50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both in writing and verbally
